On the heights of the city, Le Moulin de Maquens offers a unique and exceptional panorama of the medieval city of Carcassonne. You can enjoy this magnificent view throughout your stay, day or night, from the terrace or even from the living room on your comfortable sofa! In addition to this daily spectacle, the gîte is ideally situated within easy driving distance of many of the town's attractions: all the shops, the historic town centre, the Canal du Midi, the banks of the Aude, the Cité and the Lac de la Cavayère. If you're feeling more adventurous, you can take a walk or cycle from the gîte to reach all these must-see sites. Around Carcassonne, there are a number of regional gems to discover in less than half an hour: the landscapes of the Montagne Noire, the authentic villages of the Minervois, Limoux and its famous blanquette, and the Cathar castles of Lastours and Saissac. Leisure activities are also just a few minutes away, including an aquatic complex and an Australian park. On site, the gîte has a large private terrace with garden furniture and an electric griddle, which you can use during your holiday to make the most of the fine weather.
