Holiday Apartment in Okrug Gornji with Brick-Built Barbecue

This carefully restored stone house offers its guests a spacious 65m² holiday apartment on the second floor, newly built in 2012 as part of the restructuring. It has its own separate entrance. The apartment is ideal for four people or for a family who would like to spend a relaxing holiday. Two children up to the age of four years can stay in the parents’ bedroom free of charge. The apartment has a comfortable interior and is air conditioned. It consists of a hall, a fully-equipped living room-kitchen with a dining corner, and a bedroom with a double bed. The living room has a TV, a suite and another double bed. A supplementary bed and a cot can be set up in the living room if required. The bathroom provides a shower and WC. You can enjoy the sunset over the sea from every room. Satellite TV, bed linen, hand towels and a hairdryer are provided. The kitchen has a stove with a ceramic hob, an oven, a fridge with a freezer compartment, as well as a kettle, microwave, espresso machine and a full set of cookware and tableware.

You will be the only holiday guests in this house! The owners are happy to provide tips and advice to ensure that you spend a perfect holiday. Note from your landlord: Dear guests, I cannot guarantee that the Corona pandemic will be a thing of the past until summer. Nor can I promise you that the borders will be reopened and that tourism and vacation trips will be possible again. But should all this be possible, then I can offer you the maximum possible security for your summer vacation. 1. I only rent an apartment on the second floor of the house and you are my only guests in the house on a fenced plot. You have no contact with other guests. 2. The apartment has its own staircase, terrace and your car is in the locked garage. 3. I myself am already 67 years old and do not want to be infected, so we will communicate respectfully and at a distance. 4. Between two bookings I leave at least 30 hours (check aut.09: 00 check in. 15: 00 the next day) to thoroughly clean and disinfect the apartment for you. As far as I could tell, no corona cases have become known on the island of Čiovo until the end of April. So far, the pandemic could be managed through the Croatian government's strict measures. Nevertheless, we don't expect very many guests on the island this year. That is why I also believe that you will find enough space on the island's beaches to relax and enjoy your vacation away from other guests. Should there be a new outbreak of the pandemic despite all efforts, I will of course offer you a free cancellation. Please clarify everything else with the website. I would be very happy to welcome you as my guests in these difficult times.

There is also a sun terrace of around 30m² for the exclusive use of guests. There is a garage space for one car in the fenced courtyard. The brick-built barbecue in the courtyard and the washing machine on the ground floor are available for use at any time.

If you would like to spend your holiday away from conventional hotel blocks, whilst still enjoying the usual comfort, if you would like to spend your holiday on an island without being dependent on a boat, if you would like to enjoy the crystal clear sea and clean air away from industry and cities, if you would like to choose between a large beach with beach cafés and restaurants and many small and quiet bays, if you would like to avoid the night-time noise on the beach promenade and the loud music from the beach cafés, whilst not having to walk more than 250 metres to the beach, if you are seeking the proximity and hospitality of the Croatian people and would like to spend your holiday among them, if you would like to get to know Dalmatian specialities and the good Croatian cuisine, where vegetables are cultivated organically and are supplied directly from local gardens, if you would like to have the choice of a relaxing stay on the beach or sports activities such as the diving school, paragliding on the local beach or a rafting trip, if you would like to explore the natural beauty of the islands, along the coast or in the inland area, if you would like to see the cultural treasures under UNESCO heritage protection, then the owner welcomes you cordially as guests at the holiday apartment in Okrug Gornji, on the island of Ciovo in central Dalmatia. There are many possibilities to explore the surrounding islands by boat or ship and to go on trips. The whole old town of Trogir has been a UNESCO world cultural heritage site since 1997. It is one of the places most worth seeing in Croatia and is only about three kilometres from your holiday residence. Trogir has preserved its medieval character such that it can be considered a museum town. The historic town lies on a peninsula that was separated from the mainland by a canal already in Greek times. On every corner you can find palaces, villas and town houses that were built between the 13th and 17th centuries. The cathedral with the famous portal by the master Radovan is a landmark of the small harbour town. Its tower rises above the sea of roofs and can be seen from afar. You can stroll along the little winding alleys and along the coastal promenade, and then end the day in one of the countless restaurants and cafés. Split, the second-largest town in Croatia, with its 200,000 inhabitants, is the cultural, sports, economic and scientific centre of Dalmatia. The historic centre of Split including the Diocletian palace were declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 1979. It was the Roman emperor Diocletian who had the palace complex of over 30,000m² built in the year 295 A.D. by what was then Salona (now Solin), as an old-age retreat. The town boasts a 1700-year history and a wealth of cultural and historic sights. Many museums, collections, galleries and theatres invite you to visit them. Split is just 25km from Trogir, within easy access with the regional bus or an hour by boat in the summer. Krka National Park about 60km away is a must for all nature lovers and can be reached within an hour via the motorway A1. With a length of about 72 kilometres, Krka is the longest river in Dalmatia, between the towns of Knin and Skradin, forming one of the most beautiful national parks in Croatia stretching about 20 kilometres. The river drops about 46 metres in altitude, with seven large waterfalls, forming a unique river landscape with rapids, gorges and lakes. An orthodox monastery concealed on the shore, a monastery island in the middle of the lake, Roman excavations and the national park house are also very much worth visiting. Hobby photographers will also be delighted! There is an educational trail in the national park for those interested in nature. You can learn a great deal about the flora and fauna of the area, the Krka River and the water biotope. In the Kornati National Park there are more than 100 small, karstified and only sparsely vegetated islands were placed under nature protection in 1980 as a national park, owing to their special beauty, the unspoilt nature and a rich marine ecosystem. The largest of these islands is called Kornat, giving the group of islands its name. Trips to the Kornati National Park are available almost daily during the summer months from the nearby coastal villages of Vodice (70km) and Murter. Mecugorje is a locality in the Citluk municipality in the part of Herzegovina inhabited mostly by Croatians, about 100km away. It became known internationally through the events since the 1980s, in which young people claimed visions of Mary. Each year, thousands of Catholics and other believers visit the pilgrimage destination.

The island of Ciovo is connected to the mainland via a bridge. Three kilometres away you can find Trogir (UNESCO world heritage site), within easy access by car, where you can spend a pleasant evening. However, if you prefer not to use the car it is no problem, as there are shuttle boats from the small harbour at Okrug Gornji every quarter of an hour until midnight to Trogir and back. As the owners also enjoy frequent travel and have gathered a great deal of experience on their travels through various countries, they know what a guest really needs in order to feel at home and to spend an enjoyable holiday.

“Die Ausstattung bietet alles, was man benötigt, egal ob Küchenutensilien (Kühlschrank, Geschirr, Backofen, Herd, Essecke, Bad Zubehör (Fön), Wohnzubehör (Fernseher, W-LAN, Klima).
