    “The property is less than 1 km from Coustellet. Coustellet is a one traffic-signal crossroads town. It has a large, new Super U grocery store, two petro stations, at least two money machines, a cave featuring local Luberon wines, and a large musee de lavande. On Sundays a large market operates and it is great for cheese, fruit, vegetables, seafood, meat, flowers, etc, etc. The town is a good base for visits to Gordes, L'isle sur la Sorgue, Avignon, Orange, Gigondas, Chateauneuf de Pape, Pont du Gard, Arles, St Remy de provence, Aix-en-Provence, etc.”

    “If you, like us, don't have a car, we recommend taking the train to Cavallion or L'Isle sur la Sorgue and fetch a cab from there or to arrange to be picked up by the hosts. Cabrières-d'Avignon itself is not easy to reach by means of public transportation. There is no train station and bus services are practically non-existing. In advance we had considered renting some bikes, but ended up walking everywhere instead. There are a lot of marked paths to explore and we for example walked 4 kilometres through the hills to Gordes (7 kilometres by car) and along the old plague wall.
    Cabrières-d'Avignon itself is a charming little village with a local bakery, a butcher shop and a small supermarket (all closed on Monday and in the middle of the day). There are also two restaurants in different price ranges.”
